On Tuesday 17 November, Lab Digital, commercetools and Bluestone PIM are Gold Sponsors of Emerce AI Live at the World Trade Center in Rotterdam. This year's theme is "from AI hype to clear choices". The day is for e-commerce, marketing and digital leaders who have an AI idea and want to know how to get it live.
Three partners, one stand
You will find the three of us together at stand 5. commercetools provides the commerce platform, Bluestone PIM keeps product data complete and consistent, and Lab Digital builds the platform that connects them and puts AI to work on it. We do this together on client platforms, so the conversations at our stand start from work that is already live.
Our talk: what happens when your next customer is an agent?
12:40 – 13:10 · Dirk Kerpel, Head of Partnerships & Go-To-Market at Lab Digital
Some of your orders will soon come from software working for a customer. Dirk tells the story of Libra Energy, where an AI agent already does part of that work, and shows how we build commerce platforms that agents can use without anyone losing control.
In practice: Libra Energy
Installers email quotes to Libra Energy as PDF or Excel files. An AI agent now reads each quote, finds every line in the catalogue and creates a shopping list in the webshop. An account manager checks each list before it goes out. A job that took about 30 minutes per quote now takes under a minute.
It was possible because the commerce platform we built for Libra could already do the work. The agent uses the same services as the webshop, so it can only do what the webshop can do.
Five questions before you scale AI
The AI model is the easy part. Getting AI live takes data you can trust, clear guardrails and someone who owns it. These are the five questions we bring to the stand. If you can answer all five for your own idea, you are ready to scale.
- Value: which AI idea is worth taking live? You know what it saves or earns, and how you will measure it.
- Data: can you trust the data the AI will use? Product, price and customer data are complete, up to date and owned by someone.
- Guardrails: how can the AI act without you losing control? The AI can only do what you allow, and a person checks where it matters.
- Governance: who owns it once it is live? One owner, clear rules, and a plan for when it gets something wrong.
- People: are your teams ready to work with it? The people who use it helped shape it, and know what changes for them.

Bring your AI idea to the stand and talk it through with our team and our partners. Take the five questions home on our handout, or book an AI readiness session where we go through them with you for your own idea.
